I've always been intrigued by full moons, solstices and equinoxes.  These are special times. They represent events that are much bigger than ourselves.  Many years ago I heard that it was a yogic tradition to perform 108 Sun Salutes at the solstices and equinoxes and I was intrigued.   Of course, when we perform Surya Namaskar we are literally saluting the sun. The solstices and equinoxes celebrate those times when the sun is either closest or furthest from the earth; or those days when the hours of sun light are equal to the hours of darkness.  Since we could not exist without the sun, the ancient yogis were careful to pay homage and respect to the sun.

For 10 years I led a practice of 108 Surya Namaskar on every solstice and equinox.  Often students have been curious about this practice.  Join me on Saturday, March 12th and I will explain all I learned about this sacred practice.  This will prepare you to lead a practice of 108 on the occasion of the Spring Equinox on Sunday, March 20th.

Please register in advance as we need a minimum number of 6 people to run the program.
