Karin Eisen

I have always had very tight hamstrings. Early on in my yoga practice, I wondered why they weren't stretching as much as other parts of my body. That is when I began getting very interested in alignment. Like most disciplines, the better the understanding of the underlying structure, the more one can intelligently explore and play.

I hold two (200) hour yoga teacher certifications; one in Power yoga and the other in the Iyengar style. These styles of yoga could not be more diametrically opposed, but put together they combine to make a sweet flowing style of Vinyasa yoga with major attention to alignment. I am an E-RYT, 200 (Experienced, Registered Yoga Teacher at the 200 hour level), registered with Yoga Alliance and have been teaching yoga since January 2001. Before I became a yoga teacher I taught woodworking at Germantown Friends School from 1981 until 1999. My father said I would be a teacher when I grew up.  Teaching has always been my path.
